ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

Helping Thai businesses serve LGBTQ+ travellers

Pride Ready Asia initiated this programme to connect businesses serving LGBTQ+ travellers and help them better understand their customers. It combines research into traveller and travel-buyer needs with a review of each business’s products, services and operations. The findings will inform a development plan suited to each participating business.

Programme objectives

The programme aims to study the market, build business profiles and assess service, operational and marketing readiness. It will identify priorities for improvement and suitable support, such as advice, product development or preparation of buyer information. It will also develop recommendations for extending the work to other businesses and locations.

PARTICIPANTS AND LOCATIONS

Connecting businesses across Thailand, starting in Silom–Bang Rak

Businesses across Thailand are invited to register their interest, with local networking beginning in Silom–Bang Rak. The programme will explore how different businesses contribute to the visitor experience. The proposed pilot covers 20–30 businesses and a selected location or service journey for closer study. Details will be agreed with participants and relevant organisations before delivery begins.

Participants may include hotels, tour operators, restaurants, nightlife venues, event organisers, health and beauty providers, wedding services, retailers and creative businesses serving visitors. The programme is relevant both to businesses already working with LGBTQ+ customers and those looking to develop their services for this market.

BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES

Services for travel, couples and families

The programme will explore service needs in the context of marriage equality, including weddings and celebrations, honeymoons, anniversaries, family travel, healthcare and longer stays. Businesses can use these findings to consider changes to their products and services, with specialist input where legal, medical or other professional services are involved.
